Sri Lankan Food Photographer, Dihan de Silva’s passion was realised 6 years ago and began his creative journey doing his first shoot with Coco Veranda. Working on multinational brands like Hilton , Unilever, Nestle and Dominos put him on the map of food photography and has made him one of the most sought after Food photographers in Sri Lanka. Incorporating his own unique style and art direction he has worked with renowned chefs to create mouth watering images of dishes that preserve the freshness and vibrancy of food and captivate the viewer. He has worked with Hilton Colombo , Bavarian, COi, and Flamingo House to name a few which are some of the leading restaurants in Colombo, Sri Lanka. He has also worked together with advertising agencies such as JWT Sri Lanka, Grant McCann Sri Lanka, Leo Burnett, Mullen Lowe and Ashraff Associates on various projects and ad campaigns.
Up to date his biggest project was completing close to 200 recipes for Unilever Knorr Recipe Book. “Cooking with LOVE” which was their 150th Anniversary book in 2013. In 2016 he completed the Menu shoot for Graze Kitchen and the Christmas menu for the Hilton Colombo. Furthermore he worked on the Knorr Pack shoot for 2017 with indian renowned indian food stylist Arati Fedane and Mullen Lowe Mumbai.
Dihan stepped in to the industry of design after successfully completing his undergraduate degree in graphic design and attaining various other qualifications in the fields of marketing, advertising and communication, which would go on to create a solid foundation for his career in design. Turning point in his life of design was when in 2011 he won the young lions competition in Colombo and represented Sri Lanka at the Roger Hatchuel Academy in at the Cannes Advertising Festival where he was exposed to many areas in design such as advertising and branding. Known for his hard work and perseverance Dihan strives to make his clients the main priority while trying to achieve his creative goals and contributing his talents towards a flawless end product.
